“Whenever I tell people that I work with children with learning difficulties, their replies would always be “wow, you must have a lot of patience to do that!” I beg to differ. I did not begin my teaching career as someone with lots of patience. I have learnt to be patient from the children I worked with. They taught me to hold back and observe when they are trying to get over a fit of temper. They taught me to persevere when they are trying to learn. They also taught me to wait when they are trying to communicate their thoughts. I enjoy being the one who holds their hands when they make the leap and to catch them when they stumble. I have been working with children for years and they continued to enthuse and inspire me as a teacher; even now I am still learning from them!”
